Thanksgiving and Christmas time is know as the "Season of Giving" but for Nick and I, we have experienced the season of giving for quite a while now.
We have been overwhelmed and so blessed by those who have helped to make our adoption possible.
We are amazed at the people who have given to us. They are people who made real sacrifices to be able to support us. They are people who are in our same boat, but wanted to help us. They are people I never would have thought would financially support our adoption. They are people who freely gave of themselves to be able to be a part of our journey to Bates. They are people who get what being the hands and feet of Jesus mean. They are not the people I thought would give.
They are people Nick and I want to strive to be more like. I'm not easily parted from my money; I'm not a giver by nature. The most overwhelming thing, well, maybe second most, I've learned through our journey is I want to be more of a giver. I want to open my heart, my home, my pocketbook (gasp!), myself to other and GIVE!
We haven't met our goal, yet. But we know God will provide, just as he has provided thus far for us.
