I got a call this afternoon from 541 area code, which is HOLT! I immediately knew something wasn't right, we shouldn't be getting a call from them.
It was one of the social workers, she was calling to tell me that Bates had suffered a second degree burn on his arm. She wanted to call prior to sending the email with the report and picture, because as she said the picture was "sad".
"Sad" doesn't even do it justice.
I can't look at the picture, it makes me sick to my stomach. I'm not going to post it here, but take my word for it, it's makes you gasp.
I'm so sad for my son! I want him home. I understand accidents happen, I'm not at all upset that it happened. I'm so impressed with Holt and their professionalism, care, and concern for our son and our family.
I'm ready for my son to be home!!

oh mary leigh, I hope he's going to be ok. That is so great that holt called though. I'm praying for you guys and Bate's foster family.
ReplyDeleteaw, poor little guy. Burns are no fun. It seems to me as though he is taking after his mother, would you say? Burns on the arm seem to be a trend for you Browns. He needs unky ryan to get him some tea tree oil from Pu-la-lix! Praying.
ReplyDeleteOH NO!!!!!! Bless his little heart. How did he burn it? Poor little fella! I will say a little prayer for him.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry! I hope he is doing better soon and in your arms very soon.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Amy
Oh Mary Leigh and Nick, I can't begin to tell you the heartache I feel for you and little Bates right now. It must be so hard for you to know your little boy is hurt and you can't comfort him. Please just remember that God is with Bates, you and Nick at this time. Bates will be in your arms soon. That is going to be a wonderful day for a lot of people! Lots of prayers going up for Bates quick recovery.
ReplyDeleteI say that means he should be available for you to adopt immediately! ;) I hope the pictures make it appear worse than it is. Praying for your little guy's quick recovery!
ReplyDeleteWe, too, got a burn picture/report of our little one prior to him coming home. My prayers are for your little one's quick recovery.
ReplyDeleteOh ML...so sorry!
