UGH!

I pulled our I-797c, Notice of Action this afternoon. This is the form that says they have received our I-600 application.

I just so happened to notice they have Bates' (well, Jeong on the form) middle initial incorrect. UGH!

I called the 1-800 number on the form and after a series of "press one for English" prompts, twenty something minutes, and two ladies (who were actually very nice) they put in my request to change the "Typographical Error". The lady said I will receive notice by the 4th of February that they have processed my request.

I would just like to say, my request is to have the form typed correctly, not to hold up my process, and hurry up. It's not my fault it was a "typographical error".

So basically she told me until the request as proceed it would not be approved. UGH! UGH! That means I wouldn't get approval until after the 4th, after they changed THEIR typographical error! UGH!

While I had her on the phone I asked her if she could tell me where our packet was in process. She said since it's already at the Memphis office, she can't but she can tell me the dates of applications they have approved. NOVEMBER 6th! Ugh! Ours is dated December 15th! Ugh!

Thankfully, a lady on the Holt Message Board had an email address to the Memphis USCIS office. I emailed them and told them the whole story and basically just wanted them to be aware of the situation.

I called Nick to tell him and he responded "You've got to understand, we aren't the only ones in this situation, there are others waiting too"

I told him "I get that. But I want you to be frustrated with me!"

He said "Ok, I'm frustrated"

Seriously. Ugh.

The Memphis office immediately emailed me back and said they basically start the process again when it gets to their office. The typo would be corrected automatically and not to worry. She did say their case load was very high right now, but they are working to expedite all I-600 and I-600a applications.

Finally, whew.
