We're in Seoul!

After a very long flight, we are in Seoul!

As we were boarding, I looked at Nick and said "we are doing it!" He said yeah, we are. He doesn't get as excited as me!

We flew Asiana Airlines and they were WONDERFUL! They made a 14 hour flight as bearable as possible. The stewardess were BEAUTIFUL! We had about 12 Asian woman, who were so pretty with their porcelain skin and almond eyes. They were all dresses alike and had their hair slicked back in a bun. I loved just staring at them! They fed us two wonderful meals. Right after we boarded at 1 am, they served dinner. Nick and I both got the beef and mashed potatoes. It was like a pot roast, sorta.

After dinner, I tried to stay up and watch at least one movie to help to adjust to the time difference, but I only made it about 1/2 way through Where the Wild Things Are. I don't think Nick made it much further through Sherlock Holmes.

They had a screen that tracked our progress across the Pacific and I watched that thing like a hawk when I was awake.

They served breakfast at about 2 am, Korean time. Nick and I had both been up off and on for a while.

For breakfast, Nick had hashbrowns, ham, and some cheese thing. I was braved and ordered the Kimchi and Rice!

All in all the flight was fine, as fine as a super long flight can be. The only thing I was had to say went bad was the fact that I brushed my teeth with soap, not toothpaste, but that was my own fault!

We landed in Incheon about 4:45 and walked right through Customs with no problem. I even said "anh ya hay say yo" to the Custom Agent. He just smiled at me and said it back. Whooohooo, I was proud of myself!

Here is a picture I took just for my mom, Anna, and William. HIGH KICK! I'm in Seoul!

We got our baggage with no problem (they all made it!!!) and we went to find our driver. We didn't see a sign with our name on it, so we started to get our money out to exchange to won, about that time our driver showed up, cause I saw this sign.

We exchanged our money then headed out to the van.

As we stepped out of the airport, I took a deep breath and grabbed Nick's hand - we were here! We are in South Korea!!

It took about 50 minutes to get from the airport to our hotel. The sun was just beginning to rise and the city was coming to life. It was fun to watch.

Seoul is amazing. It's so very clean and modern, but also so traditional. It's very busy but very friendly.

Our driver pointed a few thing out to us as we drove, but for the most part we had NO IDEA what he was saying! (PawPaw, he did show us Gimpo Airport!)

He drove us to the Holt Office. I seriously wanted to just jump out of the car! I was so excited!!!!!! I can't wait to go their tomorrow!

We finally made it to our hotel, or should I say Palace. We are staying at the Somerset Palace. And it's super nice. We were able to go ahead and check in, just had to pay the early check in charge. We are in a one bedroom room until Friday, then we move to a two bedroom, which will be nice to have more room when Bates is with us.

Nick was super excited to find the end of the Masters on the TV in English. I took a 30 minute nap and then we went to the Hotel Breakfast. Now we are getting ready to hit the town for the day. It's crazy - it's 7:17 pm at home, but 9:17 am here!

For those of your who know me well, you will be surprised, I have no color coded plan for touring! It's kinda stressing me out, but I told Nick I just want to take it all in and really experience Seoul. So, here we go....
