A little change

So after much discussion and much prayer, Nick and I are changing adoption agencies. It was not an easy decision, but one we are confident in making. We will now be using Holt International, and our homestudy agency is Miriam's Promise in Nashville (which is run by the United Methodist Church)
So, with the change of agency comes some other changes, including a new application.

So this morning I finished getting our application together, went to Nick's work to have something notarized and headed to the post office.
Here I am with our packet before heading out. I just had to wear my shirt today!

Included in this packet were: our adoption application, a medical checklist, a notarized International Adoption contract, three years of tax returns, three picture of Nick and I, a picture of the front of our house, the check for the application fee, and a mini scrapbook. The scrapbook wasn't required but I wanted to include it.

Here are the pictures I included:

This is a shot of our packet headed to the post office. I looked over in the passenger seat and saw our packet sitting on top of several t-shirt orders that also needed to be mailed. Just made me realize how grateful I am for everyone who is helping us bring our baby home.

Going to the post office was a little weird. I'm walking around with this white envelope that is so important to our family but to the mail guy, it's just another envelope. I told him, this is our adoption application! He smiled and said he would take extra good care of it!

Our next step is our "in take" interview with Miriam's Promise next Wednesday. I am already in love with our social worker, Kim. I called this morning to make our appointment and then called back (get used to that, Kim) to find out how many certified birth certificates and marriage licenses I would need to order. Guess how many... NONE! They just need a copy of a certified copy, of which we have! Thanks mom and dad for keeping up with our important papers!
