So far, this Medical Checklist has been the hardest step in our adoption journey. It's the piece of paper, a checklist, of medical conditions. Every medical condition you can think of and some you have never even heard of. You have to fill it out based on what medical conditions you would accept and if you would accept minor, moderate, or major conditions. It's a very important piece of paper since we will be adoption a "special needs" child.
I mean I have never heard of some of these medical conditions, how am I supposed to know. Needless to say, I spent several hours on WebMD. That's a scary place. Even the chicken pox are deadly!
I really struggled with this form because if we were having a biological child, God doesn't send us a medical checklist. Why should we get to pick now? But at the same time, we want more children, so we want to be able to provide, care, and nurture this child.
We know that God has already ordained our child for our family. We just need to be faithful in getting "MO" home!

God already knows who MO is...and he also knows who MO's future siblings will be. He knows the desire of your heart and he will never give you more than you can handle. His plan may look different than yours, but he will take care of you! (I am slowly learning and understand that myslef.) MO is so lucky to already have parents that love him/her so much!
ReplyDeleteGod is still in charge - regardless of what you put on that form! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd hey, did you see where Kathryn Heigel and her hubby are adopting a special needs daughter from Korea?
(I'm not a fan of hers, I just thought of you)
