homestudy meeting

We met with Kim at Miriam's Promise on the 23rd of September. She was fantastic! We went over some brief information and she asked us some basic questions. I handed her our welcome letter from Holt since I had just gotten it in an email and she hadn't received it yet.

Then she got out our packet of paperwork! Whew, momma! I knew there was lots of paperwork, so I wasn't too shocked. The only thing that surprise me what the auto biography we have to write. It's going to be quite the homework assignment! I'll post more about our paperwork once we get it started!

Kim also told me that we would need to attend two PIP (Parents in Progress) Classes. These two five hour classes will complete our 10 hours of required adoption education. The next series of PIP classes were offered the following two Thursdays. Nick and I knew we would have to re-arrange our schedules to be able to attend these two classes, since the next time they are offered is in Jan/Feb. We wanted to go ahead and get them finished so it would not hold up our homestudy. Without completing these two classes, we would not be allowed to accept a referral.

We left our meeting with Kim with our armload of paperwork! Time to get busy!
