Bates' Room

We have been busy working on getting the nursery ready for Bates! It's been so much fun to work on it. It makes it feel like he will be home soon! And you know, I'm a planner so it feels good to be getting things ready.

First we painted the entire room yellow. Nick did the trim and I did the rolling. It took two coats and two gallons of paint. Then we used our math skills to measure the stripes so they would come out evenly. And by, we, I mean Nick. I tried and worked for like 30 minutes and couldn't figure it out and Nick came in and figured it all out in like 5 minutes.
The next day, we got to measuring, leveling, and taping.
Then came the painting of the blue stripes.
We peeled the tape off and the stripes were FANTASTIC!
On Sunday afternoon, we borrowed a big miter saw from a friend and hung the chair rail. I hung his name on the wall, moved the furniture in place, and hung his monster pictures.

We still have a few things to do, D'D is making a bed skirt, curtain, and changing pad cover. We have to paint his rocking chair, and hang the chinese lanterns I ordered...

But all in all, we are really ready for baby Bates!

  3. Bates is certainly a lucky baby. What a talented family he has! Especially his daddy and his uncle William! William is quite the artist... The room is absolutely precious!
