In 5 hours, one of my friends I met on the Holt Message Board will be looking at my son's face in real life!
My friend, Holly, who I met via the message board, but haven't met in real life, YET is in Korea picking up her son. Her son and Bates were on the waiting child list together. She is going to Holt at 3 pm on Thursday (which is 1 am in the morning here) for her son's preflight physical and will get to meet Bates.
She is going to hug him and tell him how much his momma and daddy love him and that we are coming for him and we will be there very soon.
I'm beyond myself excited that she gets to meet him and tell me about him, and of course, take lots of pictures! Although, I can't help but have a little part of me that is a little jealous that she will be the one kissing his cheeks and making him smile, not me.
I can't wait to hear what she says about our boy. I don't think I'll sleep much tonight and will probably be up at some point in the middle of the night to check my email!

yeah, it's bittersweet to know people going there. I remember thinking the same thing as you ... someone ELSE is getting to hold and love on my boy ... it was great that someone would do that but I wanted it to be US .... but soon you'll be there!
ReplyDeleteShe's just preparing him with a little loving before you get there and overwhelm him with it! :) You'll be there so soon. Have you heard anything yet?
