We have safetly made it to Chicago and are just hanging out at Terminal 5 Gate M9 till boarding begins around 12:30 (yawn!)
When we landed in Chicago, we had dinner at a Chili's in the airport and it was gross. We then rode the tram over to Terminal 5. On the tram, we were standing by a nice man and got to chatting with him. He asked us where we were headed and we told him to South Korea because we were adopting a son. He congratulated us and then a man across the tram said, well I'm about 18 years ahead of you, I adopted a son from South Korea 18 years ago.
We ended up chatting with that man and followed him to the check- in counter for Asiana Air.
There were no Asiana customer service reps there to check us in, so we ended having to wait a few minutes.
After a bit, a door behind the counter opened and out walked 12 Asian women in matching brown suits. The lined up behind the counter and all bowed in unison and said "Hay Say Yo" (which means "hello"). It was so neat, like our first little taste of Korea.
We got updated boarding passes and followed our friend to security and followed him to the quickest line and got through security in rapid time.
So, here we are, hanging out by the window waiting for our plane. The plane that will take us to our son's birth country!
We got some time to wait, so we've been reading, playing on the computer, practicing our Korean with the flashcards I made, blogging, and people watching.
Seoul, here we come!
so exciting!

ReplyDeleteEvery store, restaurant, etc. we entered, we were greeted. Awww...brings back good memories. The flight attendants on Asiana are angels! I wouldn't have survived the flight home without their help. You are going to love Korea! I look forward to seeing pictures of you holding precious Bates:)
I LOVE IT! Hope you were able to get a little rest on the plane!
ReplyDeleteFlash cards....such a great idea! (and SO you!)
